As you probably know, biodiesel fuel is a clean burning, renewable fuel made by domestic feedstock such as soybeans, recycled cooking oil and animal tallow and can be used in any unmodified diesel engine. Using biodiesel fuel reduces harmful emissions by about 75% overall compared to petroleum diesel. Increased use of Biodiesel will lessen our dependence on foreign oil, increase the value of our domestic crops and improve air quality and health. Biodiesel is carbon neutral and will help greatly reduce the greenhouse gas emissions of some of the dirtiest vehicles thus, helping to stop global warming. Perhaps best of all, the exhaust from this amazing fuel is 90% less toxic to children and adults who breathe it. Biodiesel fuel that has been widely tested and approved by the United States Environmental Protection Agency and, in the last year, about 200 million gallons of this fuel was used in diesel equipment across America, including in about 850 government and private fleets.

Biodiesel is domestically produced. Biodiesel benefits American farmers, American businesses and the national economy. Job creation, new markets for domestic agricultural products and keeping our energy dollars domestic are just a few of the many economic benefits gained by using Biodiesel instead of imported petroleum diesel. It is a renewable fuel source. Unlike fossil fuels, Biodiesel is made from vegetable oilseed crops grown in America, which replenishes the market annually with renewable feedstock. Biodiesel will stimulate our economy, bring new jobs to both the factory and the farm, and a new, forward-thinking industry to our country. Throughout the world, governments are beginning to realize that in terms of pollution, health, and geo-political stability, petroleum is no longer the fuel of choice. Also, being a finite resource, petroleum oil will only become more expensive as it becomes scarcer. Biodiesel can help us become more energy independent.
